From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, every woman (all Black women) I encountered treated me with respect, was pleasant to be around and I felt seen and heard. Although I was sad about her no longer accepting insurance (simply because it is difficult for me to pay out of pocket), I understand the reason and think it’s a great move for her business. I also think it is warranted considering the service I received. Dr. Babino’s approach to medicine is really aligned with my ways of thinking about health and wellness so that really was a breath of fresh air. She immediately confirmed things I’ve been thinking about my health for some time that most other doctors didn’t even give me the chance to express. I love that I had time to really share what my health concerns were and she sat in front of me and listened to every word. The environment was honestly very warm and welcoming. I had my first appointment with Dr. Babino and she was just amazing! 5 stars all across the board! My appointment was at 10am and I was greeted by Carol (the person I have been in communication with prior to my appointment) who was so sweet and welcoming. I was immediately seated in the room for Dr. Babino who came in less than 5 minutes. She instantly dived in asking about all my health concerns and then we discussed past family history and upbringing. It felt like a well needed therapy session but I love this approach so much because it really helps to understand where health issues may arise. Dr. Babino was so patient and attentive. She asked all the right questions and it felt like I was talking to someone I knew all my life. After I explained all my past history and current concerns, she recommend all things she felt could be imbalanced and thoroughly explained to me why she thought this. This is important to me as I expressed to her many doctors don’t listen to my concerns at all. After two hours of deep diving, we finished up with a pap and bloodwork. It was such a lovely experience. It is a pricy process as only labs are covered by insurance but it is definitely worth the money as I have wasted years with useless doctors. If money is an issue, I suggest saving up for this in advance so it does not feel like a burden. I am excited to get my lab results back and be on the way to optimal health. During a visit in January and talking to a friend about my digestive health issues (who also had similar issues ) she suggested I see Dr. Babino who has now incorporated functional medicine into her practice. I was happy to hear that and called for an appointment. Carol, the office manager (knowing my limited time in ATL) was able to schedule me in a timely manner. Dr. Babino was very thorough in going over my paperwork, and being prepared on my arrival. She was not in a hurry and spent close to 2 hours with me (if not more). I asked a LOT of questions and felt very comfortable with the responses. Next, was a lot of blood being drawn. Once my labs were returned, a phone consultation to discuss next steps. She suggested a 6 week protocol for me which I thought was expensive. However, now that I have completed and my gut issues are gone…it was worth the money. And, btw Dr. Babino followed up with me via phone calls just to see how I was doing. Now, that’s a caring Dr. and I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Babino.

I love Dr. Babino. My insurance sucks so I have not seen her in a while. However, I am hopeful. The site says that she listens to your problems and she does. She actually listens when you have not said anything. LOL! Let me explain. I was in for a routine check-up and starting tell her about some of my symptoms (horrible bowel habits and a number of other things). What I didn’t mention was me being fatigued after work to the point I couldn’t get out of the car. I just thought I need to sleep more or have better sleeping habits. She ran a few tests and one test I had to take home and bring back. After she receive results from one of the test, she asked a specific question, “do you ever feel fatigued or tired all the time.” Initially I said no. Her response was “are you sure”, which triggered me to think about the problem I almost dismissed. She helped me with a natural supplement and helped me readjust my diet. That was just one incident. I love and miss her and am contemplating paying out of pocket. I highly recommend her!!!
